Judging of Non-Traditional Schools in Regional Competition:
We will definitely be monitoring and assessing the entire contest as we move along. All coaches and participants will have the opportunity to complete a survey regarding this year's regional contest.
Judging - it is important to let the judges know that there are 7 teams who will be judged independently. They are at four different sites. All scoring should be done consistently for all teams at each site.
These 7 Teams of the Non-Traditional Region are competing against each other not against the Region where they are meeting.
Metro AA-II (UofMN) - Cherry Tree Music (Mpls) - 1 team
North AA (Brainerd) - River Heights Home School - 1 team
Central A (Buffalo) - Church of St. Paul Homeschool
Coop - 1 team
Central A (Buffalo) - Buffalo HS Erin Wheaton Piano Studio (Mpls) 2
- teams
Central A (Buffalo) - Grantier / Otto Music Studios 1 - team
North A (Grand Rapids) - Pioneer Homeschool -
1 team
It is absolutely essential that the scores for these teams be called
in to Gary ASAP so that the top two will be known by the end of the
Regional Competition - Gary Zwack (320)255-9836 or cell (320)492-8533.
Tie-breakers - since these teams are not at the same site the board
has determined how a tie will be broken.
"In the event of a tie score the tie will be broken by the highest
score from the following rounds of the regional test in this order:
round 5, round 2, round 3, round 1, round 4."
For example: If Team A and Team B are tied with 95 points total, look at their scores for Round 5. Whichever team scored higher on that particular round will be declared the winner. If both teams recieved the same score for Round 5, check the scores to round 2, repeat until a winner is declared.
For the rest of the Regions, in the event that there is still a tie at the end of the tie-breaker round 6 mystery listening, use the above formulation.
